An amount deducted every month from the salary of employed people is deposited in the PF account (Provident Fund). The company also contributes the same amount to this. Interest is also given by the government on the amount deposited in this account. If someone suddenly needs money, they can withdraw it. But to withdraw PF money, it is necessary to update the employee’s information, like Aadhaar, PAN, and bank details in the EPFO record.
Many times, people’s Aadhaar card is not linked to their mobile numbers, due to which there is a problem in online verification. In such a situation, it is not easy to withdraw PF money. If your Aadhaar card is also not linked to the mobile number, then there is no need to worry. You can also withdraw money through some easy methods. Let’s know what you have to do for this.
What to do if the mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar
If your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar, then first of all, it is necessary to update it. For this, you can choose any of the two methods given below:
Online method
First of all, go to your nearest Aadhaar service center.
There, you have to fill out an ‘Aadhaar update form’.
Give a copy of your Aadhaar card, photo, and new mobile number with this form.
Your biometric information (fingerprint) will be verified.
You will have to pay a fee of ₹50 for this process.
After the update, the new mobile number will be linked to Aadhaar within 3 to 10 days.
You can check the status of the update from the UIDAI website or the mAadhaar app. After the mobile number is linked, you can easily claim PF online by logging in to the EPFO portal.
Offline method
If you do not want to link the mobile number, then you can also withdraw PF money offline.
Go to your nearest EPFO office.
There, you have to fill out the ‘Composite Claim Form’.
Attach this form with a copy of your Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, and a certificate or signed form from your employer.
Submit the form along with all the documents.
This offline process usually takes 15 to 30 days. After the verification is complete, the money will be sent directly to your bank account.
