Aadhaar-PAN linking deadline: Very little time is left before the deadline for linking PAN cards and Aadhaar cards expires. You can link your PAN card and Aadhaar card by the stipulated date or before. Today is December 24th, and you can get this done by the end of this month, i.e., the 31st.
If you do not link your PAN card with your Aadhaar card by December 31st, it will become completely inactive. This will also halt your financial and banking transactions. Why is linking the PAN card and the Aadhaar card necessary?
If, for any reason,n you have not linked your PAN card with your Aadhaar card, you may face difficulties. Many incomplete tasks will be left pending without it. For example, you will not be able to file your ITR (Income Tax Return). Large transactions related to your bank account will also be affected.
Your investments in mutual funds, shares, bonds, and insurance will be stalled. If your PAN card is not working, a higher TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) may be deducted. This will be a major setback for employees.

How to correct the details
To update PAN details, visit the Protean or UTIITSL website.
To update Aadhaar details, you will have to visit the UIDAI website or email the UIDAI helpdesk at authsupport@uidai.net.in.
If linking is still not successful for any reason, you can choose the biometric verification option. Then visit the authorised PAN service centre and carry the following items:

Easy process for online PAN-Aadhaar linking:
Go to the Income Tax e-Filing Portal.
Click on the “Link Aadhaar” option.
Enter your PAN number and Aadhaar number. You can confirm the linking process using the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
If, for any reason, you are linking after the deadline, you will first need to pay ₹1,000 through e-Pay Tax and then enter the details.
