Old Age Pension– Govt makes a big announcement. The Delhi government, headed by Rekha Gupta, has decided to add 50,000 new beneficiaries to the Old Age Pension Scheme. The government says the enrollment drive will ensure that as many elderly people as possible are included in the scheme, so that they don’t have to wait for others to meet their needs and receive financial assistance directly from the government.
Furthermore, the monthly pension for senior citizens is also being increased. Beneficiaries aged 60 and above will now receive Rs 2,500 instead of Rs 2,000. For beneficiaries aged 70 and above, the pension is being increased from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000.
