Let us tell you that, like the Aadhar card, now it has become necessary to have the correct mobile number with a driving license and vehicle registration card. Whenever a new vehicle registration, renewal of an old registration, a learning license, or a permanent driving license is made, the active mobile number will also have to be entered at that time. OTP will be sent to this number. If the mobile number is not correct or there is a difference in the record, then OTP will not come, and the process will not proceed.
How to update the mobile number?
Transport Commissioner Vivek Sharma said that vehicle owners can use the update link on “Sarathi Portal” and “Vahan Portal” to update the mobile number linked to their driving license and vehicle registration card. Through this, the new mobile number can be easily updated online. More than 18 lakh vehicles are registered in the city, but in many of these cards, the mobile numbers are either wrongly registered or have not been updated.

Problems in vehicle transfer
This initiative to update mobile numbers has been taken because in many cases, the number registered on the registration card and driving license is different. In some cases, the vehicle was transferred to someone else’s name without the knowledge of the real owner, which also led to disputes. That is why now matching the mobile number has been made mandatory in every application process.
