Big news for crores of Indians, The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has now announced that it will make the Aadhaar-based KYC (Know Your Customer) process even easier and safer. With the new changes, now you will neither have to provide your Aadhaar number for your KYC, nor will you need OTP or biometrics. Simple options like QR code and PDF are being introduced by UIDAI, so that offline KYC can be used as much as possible. Under this new scheme of UIDAI, you will not need to share personal details, which will maintain your privacy and reduce the risk of fraud. This is also big relief news for Fintech, loan, and digital service companies.
QR code and PDF
Now, instead of XML, the option of QR code and PDF will be given, which will make sharing documents easier and less risky. This change became more necessary when UIDAI and MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) blocked the websites of food delivery and e-commerce companies, which were causing huge problems in KYC. Given these problems, these changes are being brought about rapidly.

Now there will be real-time verification
Now, in every Aadhaar application, real-time document verification and cross-checking with other government databases will be necessary, so that fraud can be prevented. This step will further strengthen the security related to Aadhaar.
Children’s Aadhaar may be closed
An important update is related to children’s Aadhaar. For children whose Aadhaar is made before the age of 5, if their biometrics are not updated by the age of 7, their Aadhaar can be deactivated. It is important to ensure that the child’s biometrics are updated on time.
Increasing demand for Aadhaar update

In March 2025 itself, UIDAI issued 2 million new Aadhaar and updated 1.91 crore Aadhaar. This figure shows that the demand for Aadhaar services is very high, and UIDAI is constantly improving to meet these demands.
Now, there will be auto verification
While creating Aadhaar, information will now be cross-checked with passport, ration card, electricity bill, driving license, and MGNREGS data. This new digital tool will make the verification process more accurate and reliable.
