Design
The new 2026 Suzuki Jimny has received some important updates in Japan. However the design has not changed much as its classic boxy look is already quite popular. This update is currently only for three-door models, as Five-Door Jimny Nomade is already new.
Subtle changes have been made to its exterior look such as new sub-mirrors that help reduce blind spots. These have been specifically added to the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) model.
Interior
The new Jimmy’s cabin will now have more modern and tech-savvy experiences. It now features a 4.2-inch color display and a 9-inch new touchscreen infotainment system that comes with smartphone connectivity. This new system is much more advanced than the old unit. Lower variants still get the classic plastic dashboard to maintain an affordable price.
Features
However, Suzuki has made this updated Jimny even stronger in terms of safety. It now includes features such as Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Lane Departure Prevention, Automatic High Beam, and Road Sign Reconciliation. Automatic variants also receive Adaptive Cruise Control and Rear False Start Prevention.
Also, the new Jimny has also been updated in terms of cyber security so that it is in line with Japan’s latest automotive regulations.
Engine
Suzuki has kept the engine in its new version as it already provides perfect balance. The Kei Version gets a 658cc turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that gives 63hp power. At the same time, the Jimny Sierra features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that generates 103hp power.
As a transmission option, 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearboxes are provided, which come with Suzuki’s part-time 4WD system. That is, off-road performance remains the same.

Also, the updated 2026 Suzuki Jimny has been launched in Japan. Its initial price is ¥1,918,400 (approximately ₹11.18 lakh), while the Jimny Sierra price goes up to ¥2,385,900 (close to ₹13.91 lakhs). The new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is optional, priced at ¥128,700 (close ₹75,000).
