If you invest in Mutual Funds from different platforms, it can be difficult to track them. You have to visit different broking platforms again and again to view those funds. Find out how you can view all your mutual funds on the same platform with just a PAN Card.
Just provide your PAN card and everything will be done
If you have invested in Mutual Funds from different places, sometimes through SIP, sometimes in tax-efficient schemes, sometimes by investing in lump sums, then after a while it becomes difficult to understand where all your money is invested and how much return you are getting. In such a situation, one thing comes to your aid, which is your PAN number.
Why is PAN number your biggest strength?
PAN number is not just for paying taxes, it links all your mutual fund investments with you. No matter how much money you invest, in which fund, each investment will be linked to the same PAN. This allows you to see the money in different folios. This means that information about each fund is available in one place and reporting taxes or capital gains also becomes easier.
CAS report will give you a complete picture of your investments
Due to SEBI regulations and digital technology, you no longer have to log in to each fund’s website. Now you can view all your Account Statement (CAS) just by using your PAN. This is a report that contains information about all the mutual fund folios associated with your name, such as when you invested, in which scheme, how many units you have, what is the current value, whether SIP is active and how much return you have received.
How to check your CAS report?
1 To get this report, you just need to follow these steps
2 First, visit the website of MF Central, CAMS Online, KFintech, NSDL or CDSL.
3 Select the ‘Request CAS’ or ‘View Portfolio’ option there.
4 Then enter your PAN number, registered email or mobile number and date of birth if required.
5 You will receive an OTP, after entering which you will be able to view your report.
6 Here you can decide whether you want the report once or every month. You can also choose to have it emailed or view it on your screen.
Don’t panic if you don’t see any investment
Sometimes it may happen that some investment does not appear in your CAS report. This does not mean that the fund is no more. It may be that the folio is linked to another PAN (like a joint holder) or your KYC is incomplete. The solution to this is to update the KYC on your folio. You can easily fill eKYC through Aadhaar on websites like CAMS or KFintech.
MITRA: A new way to find forgotten investments SEBI launched a new platform, MITRA, i.e. Mutual Fund Investment Tracing and Reclaim Application, in March 2024. If you think you have made an investment earlier and have now forgotten it, then go to MITRA, enter PAN and date of birth and find old funds. This is especially useful for those who have inherited the investment. That is, those who invested offline before 2010, whose email or mobile number is not registered in the folio.
