The Delhi government, under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, will soon introduce the Mahila Samridhi Yojna for women in economically disadvantaged situations. Under the Mahila Samridhi Scheme, eligible women will receive a monthly financial support of Rs 2500.
The Delhi government intends to directly deposit this sum into the bank accounts of women eligible for this scheme.
What are the requirements for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana?
Let us clarify which women will qualify for this scheme-
Yearly family income must be under Rs 3 lakh.
Not qualified to pay income tax
The age must range from 18 to 60 years.
Do not take any government position.
The Delhi government is creating a digital platform for the registration procedure. The IT department is also creating a specific software to assist in verifying applications and make sure that only qualified women obtain benefits. The Mahila Samridhi Yojana is aligned with similar programs in other BJP-governed states, like the Ladli Behna Yojana in Madhya Pradesh and the Ladki Behen Yojana in Maharashtra. The necessary documents for registering for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana have not been officially revealed so far, but it is expected that an Aadhaar card, ration card, proof of address, and a registered mobile number will be needed for this.
The online platform will connect the applications to their Aadhaar cards and will feature information such as the applicant’s name, address, and bank account details. The system will check if the applicant is a taxpayer or is receiving any other government assistance. Applications that fail to fulfill the criteria will be dismissed. The Delhi government projects that between 15 lakh and 20 lakh women will qualify for the scheme.
