The Jharkhand government’s popular scheme Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is once again making waves among the citizens of the state, as the government has released the 15th installment as ₹2,500 has been deposited into the accounts of women in 12 districts before Diwali. Chief Minister Hemant Soren described this payment as a Diwali gift for women and said that beneficiaries in the remaining districts will also receive this amount soon. But, there is another big news for those who did not receive the previous installment payment.
What is Maiya Samman Yojana?
The Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana is a women’s welfare scheme of the Jharkhand government, launched by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Under this scheme, economically disadvantaged women beneficiaries between the ages of 18 and 50 in the state are provided with a monthly amount of ₹2,500.
Initially, ₹1,000 was provided per month under this scheme, but the amount was increased to ₹2,500 in December 2024. This amount is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). The scheme is administered by the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Security, and over 5 million women have benefited from it so far.
Women who missed the previous 14th installment will receive two installments of ₹5,000 each this time. The government is working to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of the scheme’s benefits before the festival season. The remaining districts will receive the funds in the next phase, which is planned to be completed between October 20th and 22nd.
The previous installment
In October 2025, the government announced that the 15th installment would be transferred to the accounts of eligible women before Diwali. According to reports, in the first phase, only ₹2,500 was deposited into the accounts of women in 12 districts. These districts include Ranchi, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Bokaro, Lohardaga, Gumla, Jamtara, Simdega, Chatra, Dumka, Pakur, and Giridih.
