LPG Price: Amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East and global instability, difficulties have increased for LPG consumers in the country. The Central Government has recently increased the prices of LPG cylinders drastically, which has affected the kitchen budget of the common man. After this hike, the price of domestic gas cylinder has increased by Rs 60 to reach Rs 913 in Delhi. At the same time, a huge increase of Rs 115 has been recorded in the price of commercial cylinder.
Amid this price surge and supply disruptions, a saving grace for millions of consumers is that government subsidies remain available. Specifically, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) receive a direct subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure your subsidy is being credited to your account on time.
More than 10 crore beneficiaries registered
Launched in May 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana aims to provide clean fuel to women in poor families across the country. Currently, more than 100 million beneficiaries are registered under this scheme. These beneficiaries receive a government subsidy of Rs 300, which is transferred directly to their bank accounts. Considering the current rate in Delhi of Rs 913, the effective price of a cylinder for Ujjwala beneficiaries after the subsidy is only Rs 613.
How to apply online?
Under the scheme, beneficiaries not only receive a cheaper cylinder, but also receive a free pressure regulator, safety hose, and two-burner stove upon first purchasing a connection. If you would like to take advantage of this scheme, you can apply online by visiting the official website (pmuy.gov.in ). Alternatively, you can also fill out the form at your nearest Common Service Center or gas distributor.
