Difference between VoNR and VoLTE
The biggest difference between these two technologies is that VoNR works completely on 5G network, while VoLTE uses 4G network.
VoLTE
It connects calls with the help of a 4G LTE network. It takes some time for the call to connect, and sometimes there may be a problem with call disconnection.
VoNR
Your voice goes directly to the 5G network, which connects the call immediately. Its voice quality is better and there is less problem of call disconnection.
Using VoNR also consumes less battery of your phone, because the 5G network is fast and stable. When you turn on this setting, Vo5G will appear written on your phone instead of VoLTE, along with signal bars.
How to turn on VoNR in your phone
If you have a 5G phone and a Jio SIM in it, then you can turn on this service very easily.
Go to phone settings.
Tap on Mobile Network Settings.
If you have a Jio SIM in your phone, you will see the option of VoNR.
This option will be off by default. As soon as you turn it on, your internet will be off for a few seconds, and then Vo5G will be written along with the signal.
If even after this, VoNR is not visible, restart the phone once or remove the SIM for a while and reinsert it. If the problem persists, you can also try changing your location or finally talk to Jio customer care and get a solution.
Is there any cost to be paid for this
The biggest question is, will there be any additional charge for this service? The company has kept the VoNR service absolutely free for everyone. However, to avail this service, you must have a 5G phone and a recharge pack of at least ₹ 239 should be active in your Jio connection.
