Irctc tatkal ticket booking issue: If you also try to book Tatkal tickets for trains, then you must have felt that as soon as it is 10 am, the IRCTC website or app freezes as if some magic has been done. Lakhs of people log on to the website simultaneously to get tickets and the tickets run out in a few seconds. In this race, very few people are able to get tickets and the efforts of the rest of the people remain incomplete due to the website hanging intermittently.

This problem is such that as soon as the clock strikes 10, the website becomes completely slow, people refresh the page again and again, but it becomes difficult to get a ticket. A survey has also revealed that about 73 percent of the people say that as soon as the Tatkal ticket booking starts, the tickets go to the waiting list within just one minute. That is, the sooner the ticket booking opens, the sooner it ends.

What did the founder of Thyrocare say?

On this whole issue, Dr. A. Velumani, the founder of Thyrocare, has given his opinion on social media. He says that the problem of IRCTC website is technical, especially related to the capacity of the server. When lakhs of people visit the website at the same time, the server is unable to handle that load and the website starts freezing.

Dr. Velumani told that his company also had to face such server overloading problem sometimes. Then he adopted a special method to prevent users from visiting the website simultaneously. He sequenced the website access of users, that is, only a limited number of users were allowed to visit the website at a time. This did not freeze the website and all the users got the service properly.

Dr. Velumani suggests that IRCTC should also adopt such technology so that too much traffic does not come to the website simultaneously. Apart from this, he said that if Tatkal ticket booking is done from 6 am to 8 pm and booking is allowed only for selected trains every hour, then the load on the website will be reduced and booking tickets will become easier.

The truth of the website at 10 am

An image went viral in a social media post, in which it was claimed that IRCTC ticket booking has become just a joke. It was told that as soon as it is 10 am, the website freezes and all the tickets are booked within 3 minutes. After this, the website becomes normal again after 4 minutes. This picture spread the word among the people that there is definitely something wrong with ticket booking.

People’s problems and survey points

A survey by LocalCircles found that the experience of IRCTC’s Tatkal ticket booking has been very disappointing for the common Indian passengers. More than 55,000 people from 396 districts of the country participated in this survey conducted in the months of April and May. In this, 73 percent people admitted that whenever they tried to book Tatkal tickets, their tickets went to the waiting list within a minute.

Not only this, 30 percent people had to take the help of travel agents to book tickets and 29 percent people got success only 25 percent of the times in the last one year. These figures clearly show how big is the problem of passengers.

How to book tickets on IRCTC website without any issue?

Dr. Velumani said that IRCTC will have to increase the server capacity of its website and also bring a better system, so that the number of users can be controlled. He believes that heavy traffic should be avoided on the website at the same time. For this, the booking time should be spread from 6 am to 8 pm and ticket booking should be opened only for limited trains every hour.

This will not only reduce the load on the server but will also make it easier for passengers to get tickets. He is of the opinion that if such a system is made then the website will not freeze and everyone will get a better experience.

Users’ problems are also no less

When people responded to Dr. Velumani’s suggestions, a user said that the same problem as the IRCTC website is also seen during helicopter booking. All the slots for helicopter tickets for Kedarnath from May 2 to May 31 were completely filled in just 12 minutes. This shows that not only train tickets, but similar traffic and server overload problems are common on other booking platforms as well.
