Railway passengers can celebrate as their board has changed the way in which they create reservations. Now passengers will know about their train ticket statuses 10 hours before the time they were originally scheduled to be available to the public.

The first reservation charts for trains leaving from 5 AM to 2 PM will be made by 8 PM on the night before. For trains leaving from 2:01 PM to 11:59 PM, or from midnight until 5 AM, the reservation charts will be created by 10 hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

Reservation Chart Now Prepared Earlier

Meanwhile, for trains departing between 2:01 PM and 11:59 PM and from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM, the first reservation chart will be prepared 10 hours before the train’s departure.

Previously, the reservation chart was prepared only 4 hours in advance, which caused problems and confusion for passengers at the last minute.

To provide passengers with advance information about their travel and reservation status, and especially to reduce the anxiety of passengers traveling long distances, the railways have changed the reservation chart preparation time for the first time.

Railway Ministry officials told India Today, “The charts will be prepared in advance for the convenience of passengers so that they can easily plan their journey.” Necessary instructions are being issued to all zonal railway divisions regarding this matter.
