Following this announcement, many questions have arisen among the general public regarding PAN cards, particularly concerning address changes and the delivery of new PAN cards. The Income Tax Department has now provided all the necessary information on this matter. Let’s take a look at the rules regarding addresses under the new PAN 2.0 system.
After the news of PAN 2.0 was announced, many people asked how those who live in a different city due to work or other reasons, or who have changed their address, will receive their new PAN cards. In response to this question, the Income Tax Department stated that a new PAN card will only be issued when the cardholder applies for an update or correction.
Simply put, the new PAN card will remain valid. The customer can use it for all purposes. If they apply for a new, updated PAN card, they will be delivered a new PAN card with a QR code.
