The original price of this travel insurance policy was only 35 paise but has now risen to 45 paise. Though this is the lowest price in India for travel insurance, it only lasts for up to several hours while travelling on a train; once you arrive at your destination, the policy will no longer be valid.
How Much & How Much of Insurance Coverage
Through IRCTC’s travel insurance policy, you will receive three levels of insurance coverage. In case of accidental death due to train crash, you and your family would be entitled to indemnity up to Rs. 10,000,000 on the death certificate. In addition, as stated above, if you suffer complete and total loss of limb or function as a result of an accident while travelling, there is also a provision for a ₹10,000,000 indemnity to be provided by the insurance authorities to you.

On the other hand, if you become temporarily disabled due to an accident, you will be given a coverage of Rs 7.50 lakh.
