How to get a plastic voter card?
To get a plastic voter ID, first you have to go to the National Voters Service Portal https://voters.eci.gov.in/. Here you have to click on Sign Up from the Login and Sign Up options. After that you have to register. And apply for a voter card. After that you have to pay a fee of Rs 30. After paying the fee, your card will be printed and sent directly to your address by post.
The plastic voter card is not only strong but also looks like an ATM or PAN card and is very easy to carry. Get it made before the elections so that you do not have any tension on the day of voting. If you already have a paper voter card, you can order a plastic one by filling Form 8.
You can also apply offline
If you do not have internet facility or are facing problem in online process, then there is no need to worry. You can get your plastic voter ID card made offline also. For this, you have to contact your nearest election office or BLO. Take Form 6 from there. In which you have to fill your basic information, address and age.
So you will have to attach a passport size photo and a copy of any identity card like Aadhar card or birth certificate. After submitting the form, your plastic voter card will be ready and delivered to your home within a few weeks.
