How much salary will increase under the 5th and 6th Pay Commission? Check out the calculation

Central government employees are getting good news one after another in November month. It seems that this month is very lucky for lakhs of people. The central government has announced an increase in the Dearness Allowance of employees receiving salaries under the 6th and Central Pay Commission (CPC). The announcement was made through an office memorandum by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, on 7 November 2024. The benefit of this increase will be given to those employees who are working in Central Autonomous Bodies and who are receiving salary as per the 6th or 5th Central Pay Commission.

 

How much salary will increase under the 6th Pay Commission?

 

According to the 6th Central Pay Commission, the Dearness Allowance (DA) for salaried employees has been increased to 246% from the existing 239%. Under this change, the DA of employees will now be 246% of their basic salary. For example, if the basic salary of an employee is₹43,000 per month, then at the earlier 239% DA, he was getting₹1,02,770. Now, after the new hike, the DA will be Rs. 1,05,780, indicating an increase of Rs. 3,010. This revised DA rate has become effective from 1st July 2024.

 

Salary under the 5th Pay Commission

 

The Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) from 443% to 455% for employees drawing salaries under the 5th Central Pay Commission. This increase has also come into effect from 1 July 2024. According to the memorandum, under this amendment, 455% of the basic salary of the employees will be given as dearness allowance.
