Have you also opened a bank account under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana? If yes, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a special message for you. If you ignore it, your zero-balance account may be closed.

PM Modi gave this special message to Jan Dhan account holders while transferring the money of the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to the accounts of 9.7 crore farmers. He said that more than 55 crore bank accounts of poor people have been opened in the country. It is special that those who never had the chance to see a bank now have their own bank accounts. Through these accounts, they are directly getting the benefits of government welfare schemes. PM Modi said, “From this platform, I want to make a special request to you.”

KYC is Necessary After 10 Years

PM Modi said that the PM Jan Dhan Yojana has completed 10 years. As per banking rules, it is necessary to get the KYC of bank accounts updated every 10 years. Many account holders may be confused about whether they need to visit the bank for this. To make it easier, a special campaign has been started with the help of bank officials to complete the KYC process.

Camps Set Up in Every Village

This campaign, which started on July 1, has bank employees setting up camps and fairs in every Gram Panchayat. Lakhs of people have already completed their KYC. PM Modi has urged that those who have not done e-KYC yet should get it done as soon as possible.

Take Aadhaar Card and Bank Passbook With You

Getting e-KYC for your Jan Dhan account is a simple process. You can visit the camp or your bank branch. Take your bank passbook and Aadhaar card with you. The process will be completed within minutes using Aadhaar biometric verification.
