Government Launches New Scheme Helping Women Earn Over Rs 2 Lakh— Check Eligibility & Apply Now

Last year, the government launched LIC’s Bima Sakhi Scheme to empower women and make them self-reliant. This scheme also provides an earning opportunity for women who have passed the 10th grade. Under this scheme, they can earn up to Rs 7,000 per month. However, to apply, the age limit is between 18 to 70 years. In this article, we will share all the important details about this scheme.

What is LIC’s Bima Sakhi Yojana?

The Bima Sakhi Yojana is a scheme aimed at empowering women by providing them with the opportunity to become LIC agents. Under this scheme, 10th-pass women will receive special training to work as LIC agents. The government aims to train 2 lakh women over the next 3 years. After completing their training, women can work as LIC agents and, upon graduation, may even have the chance to become a Development Officer in LIC.

Earnings During Training

Women trained under the Bima Sakhi Yojana will receive a stipend during their training.

  • In Year 1, they will receive Rs 7,000 per month.
  • In Year 2, they will receive Rs 6,000 per month.
  • In Year 3, they will receive Rs 5,000 per month.

In total, women will earn more than Rs 2 lakh over the three years. Additionally, they can boost their income through commissions.

Eligibility for Application

Only women can apply for this scheme. To apply, they must have a 10th pass certificate (Matriculation/High School). The age limit for applicants is between 18 to 70 years. Eligible women will undergo 3 years of training by the government. After completing the training, they will work as insurance agents.

How to Apply

  1. Visit LIC’s official website: LIC India.
  2. Scroll down and find the option “Click here for Bima Sakhi” and click on it.
  3. Fill in the required details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, and address.
  4. If you are related to any LIC agent, development officer, employee, or medical examiner, provide their information.
  5. Finally, fill in the captcha code and click on the Submit button.

This process will allow you to apply for the Bima Sakhi Yojana and start your journey towards becoming an LIC agent.
