Marriage Aid- Uttar Pradesh government is running many schemes to help the economically weaker people. These schemes are the financial support of lakhs of people. One such scheme of the state government is ‘Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana’. In this, mass marriages are organized by the government. Under this scheme, the government provides grant money to the married couples.

Under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme, 51 thousand rupees were earlier given to the newly married couple. The state government has amended it and now decided to give financial assistance of 1 lakh rupees to the newly married couple under the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage. This decision was taken in the review meeting of the Social Welfare Department.

Income limit also increased

According to the Azamgarh Social Welfare Department, many other important changes have been made in this scheme. The annual income limit has also been increased for the eligibility of the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme. Earlier, only those people were eligible for this scheme whose annual income was up to Rs 2 lakh. Now this limit has been increased to Rs 3 lakh per annum. With this decision of the UP government, a large number of those families will also be able to get the benefit of this scheme, who are financially weak, but were deprived of this scheme.

Under the scheme, Rs 60,000 will be deposited directly into the bride’s account, so that she can get some financial security in her future life. The newly married couple will be given gifts worth Rs 25,000, which will include essential items for household life. A grant of Rs 15,000 will be spent on the wedding ceremony to ensure proper organisation of the wedding.

How to apply for it?

To apply for mass marriage, interested people should download the form from the official website of the scheme shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in and fill in the required information. After this, submit it along with the necessary documents to the nearest Gram Panchayat, Municipal Corporation, Municipality or Social Welfare Department of the district headquarters.
