Ration Card – There is big news for ration card holders in Chhattisgarh. In Bijapur of Bastar division, ration card holders are being provided rice for 4 months at a time, that is, the ration card consumers are not being given rice one by one, but rice for the entire 4 months is being given at once. Amidst the rice festival, this initiative of Bijapur Collector is being discussed a lot in the entire village.

Four months’ ration has been distributed simultaneously under the Public Distribution System (PDS) under the Niyada Nellnar scheme in the remote and inaccessible areas of Bijapur. In the name of ration distribution, many villagers are reaching the ration shops with their own means. It was told that this unique initiative has been taken on the instructions of Collector Sambit Mishra.

Rain causes problems

It has been told that 70 such centers have been identified in the district which are very remote and inaccessible. There is a lot of problem in transportation during rain in these areas, due to which ration card holders are not able to reach to get ration on time. But now the process of ration distribution in these areas is already being completed so that the villagers can get ration even in difficult circumstances.

What is Niyad Nellnar Yojana?

Niyad Nellnar Yojana is an ambitious scheme launched by the Chhattisgarh government in the year 2024, which aims to provide the benefits of government schemes to the general public in the Naxal-affected districts and backward areas of the state. The main objective of this scheme is focused on expansion of education, women empowerment, improvement in health facilities and development and expansion of other basic services. Under this scheme, benefits are being provided in Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker, Dantewada and Narayanpur districts.
