Gold Price: Gold and silver prices witnessed another surge today, May 21. Fluctuations in gold and silver prices are observed daily, with prices rising one moment and falling the next. The India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA) has released the latest gold rates. According to the IBJA:

The price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold has risen by ₹392, reaching ₹1.59 lakh. Meanwhile, the price of 1 kilogram of silver declined by ₹1,494 today, settling at ₹2.66 lakh. If you are considering purchasing gold, you should check the latest rates before doing so. It is worth noting that Prime Minister Modi recently appealed to the public to refrain from purchasing gold and silver for one year. Ever since the import duty on gold and silver was increased, prices have trended upward. However, minor dips in gold rates have been observed intermittently.

Gold Becomes ₹26,000 and Silver ₹37,000 More Expensive

This year has seen continuous volatility in gold and silver prices. So far in 2026, gold has become dearer by ₹26,000, and silver by ₹37,000. On December 31, 2025, 10 grams of gold stood at ₹1.33 lakh; it has now reached ₹1.59 lakh.

Similarly, silver, which was priced at ₹2.30 lakh per kilogram, has now risen to ₹2.67 lakh per kilogram. During this period—specifically on January 29—gold hit an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh, while silver touched a record high of ₹3.86 lakh.

24-Carat Gold Rates

According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 24-carat gold (999 purity) has reached ₹158,947 per 10 grams.

23-Carat Gold Rates
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the rate for 995 purity (23-carat) gold has reached ₹158,311 per 10 grams.

22-Carat Gold Rates
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the rate for 916 purity (22-carat) gold has reached ₹145,595 per 10 grams.

18-Carat Gold Rates
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the rate for 750 purity (18-carat) gold has reached ₹119,210 per 10 grams.

14-Carat Gold Rates
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the rate for 585 purity (14-carat) gold has reached ₹92,984 per 10 grams.

The afternoon rates have just been released by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). Gold rates will also be released in the evening, around 5 PM. These rates do not include GST or making charges.
