Gold Rate Today: A significant surge in gold and silver prices has been observed today, May 6th. While gold rates declined just a few days ago, a sharp upward trend is evident this afternoon. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold has risen by ₹3,000, reaching ₹1.51 lakh per 10 grams.

Previously, the price of gold stood at ₹1.48 lakh. Meanwhile, the price of 1 kilogram of silver has increased by ₹6,000, reaching ₹2.46 lakh; prior to this, it was ₹2.40 lakh. On January 29th, gold had hit an all-time high of ₹1.76 lakh, while silver had set a record high of ₹3.86 lakh.

What is the Price of Gold Today?
According to the IBJA, the price of 23-carat gold has risen by ₹2,988 today, reaching ₹150,033 per 10 grams. Including GST, its price has reached ₹154,533. Furthermore, the rate for 22-carat gold has increased by ₹2,748, reaching ₹137,983. Including GST, the rate for 22-carat gold now stands at ₹142,122 per 10 grams.

Additionally, the rate for 18-carat gold surged by ₹2,250 today, reaching ₹112,977 per 10 grams. Including GST, the price of this gold variety is now ₹116,366 per 10 grams. Finally, the price of 14-carat gold rose by ₹1,755 today, reaching ₹88,122 per 10 grams; including GST, its price is now ₹90,765.

It is worth noting that the IBJA releases its rates twice a day: once around 12:00 PM (noon) and again around 5:00 PM. The rates cited here correspond to the update released at 12:15 PM. According to IBJA rates, gold in the bullion market is now just ₹25,262 cheaper than its all-time high of ₹176,121.
