Many small businessmen and craftsmen in the country want to grow their businesses, but their biggest challenge is financial problems, mainly the lack of capital. To help these people, the central government has launched a special scheme called PM Vishwakarma Yojana. Under this scheme, a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh is easily available at an interest rate of just 5 percent. You do not need to mortgage anything for this loan. What is Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana?

PM Vishwakarma Yojana is one of the central government’s ambitious schemes. It promotes traditional crafts by helping artisans to preserve and improve their skills according to the needs of the modern market. This scheme provides financial help, modern tools, and skill development training to ensure artisans can grow and compete better.

Who Can Get Its Benefits?

  1. Artisans or workers from the unorganized sector working in any of the 18 traditional occupations using tools and their hands.
  2. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  3. The applicant should already be working in their craft at the time of registration.
  4. They should not have received benefits from schemes like PMEGP, PM Swanidhi, or Mudra in the last five years.
  5. Only one family member (husband, wife, or unmarried child) can avail of benefits.
  6. Government employees and their families are not eligible.

Benefits of PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Issuance of a PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID card.

Collateral-free loans:

  • First instalment: up to Rs 1 lakh.
  • Second instalment: up to Rs 2 lakh.

Both loans are available at a low interest rate of 5%.

Skill training:

  • Basic Training: 5–7 days.
  • Advanced Training: 15 days or more.
  • Stipend of Rs 500 per day during training.

Loan and Tool Assistance Details

Toolkit assistance: E-vouchers of up to Rs 15,000 are given at the beginning of basic training.

Loan in two instalments:

  • First loan after basic training.
  • Second loan after advanced training and starting digital transactions.
  • Digital transaction reward: Rs 1 reward per transaction, up to 100 transactions per month.
  • Support for quality certification, branding, and e-commerce presence to help artisans grow their businesses.

How to Register for PM Vishwakarma Yojana

You can register online at the official website pmvishwakarma.gov.in. The registration steps are:

  1. Step 1: Mobile Number and Aadhaar Card Verification (e-KYC).
  2. Step 2: Fill and submit the Artisan Registration Form.
  3. Step 3: Download the PM Vishwakarma Digital ID and Certificate.
  4. Step 4: Apply for different scheme benefits.

Verification Process:

  • First verification at the Gram Panchayat or Urban Local Body (ULB) level.
  • Then reviewed by the District Implementation Committee.
  • Final approval by the Screening Committee.

Awareness Camp and Registration Update

The MSME Development Office, Patna, organized a one-day awareness and registration camp under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana at Hotel Shalimar Palace, Jehanabad, in collaboration with:

  • District Administration, Jehanabad
  • District Industries Center
  • Bihar Industries Association, Patna
  • Laghu Udyog Bharati, Bihar Chapter
  • DICCI Bihar Chapter, and other local associations.

More than 220 participants attended the program. Out of them, 57 participants were successfully registered on the PM Vishwakarma Portal during the event.
