PM Svamitva Scheme: The Central Government’s Svamitva Scheme is a crucial initiative launched to provide people living in rural areas with legal rights over their property. This scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Under this scheme, land in the residential areas of villages is surveyed using modern drone technology. Based on this survey, villagers are given official documents of their property, i.e., property cards, also known as Records of Rights. The government aims to bring approximately 6.62 lakh villages across the country under this scheme in the next five years, so that every rural family has a secure record of their property.

That is, they can take loans from banks or avail benefits of other government schemes based on their property cards. In addition, it will facilitate the determination of property tax, enable better planning by Gram Panchayats, and allow for more effective monitoring of rural development works.
