What is e-Shram Card?
The Government of India has started the e-Shram Card for people who earn their living through small jobs like daily wage work or small business.
This card is managed by the Ministry of Labour of India as part of the national database. Through this card, people can get financial help from the government in case of an accident. It also gives a monthly pension after old age.
Advantages of e-Shram Card
- People who have an e-Shram Card will get Rs 3,000 every month from the central government after the age of 60.
- If a person with an e-Shram Card dies in an accident, the family will get Rs 2 lakh from the government. If the person is injured, they will get Rs 1 lakh.
- Pregnant women who cannot work during pregnancy will get financial help through this card.
- The government helps homeless workers build houses and gives scholarships or money for the education of their children.
Who Can Apply
- People who are daily wage workers, laborers, or those with low or no monthly income can apply.
- The applicant’s age should be between 16 and 59 years.
- People who pay income tax or are members of EPFO or ESIC cannot apply.

- How to Apply for e-Shram Card
- Go to the official website — eshram.gov.in.
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ option.
- Then click on ‘Registration on e-Labour’ and enter your mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- You will get an OTP on your phone — enter it correctly.
- Fill in the required details and submit the form.
