Free Ration Update: Good news for Ration Card holders. The wait for ration consumers is now over. Free ration will be distributed to 4.74 lakh, 656 card holders from December 10th. Also, in September-October, the remaining maize at some ration dealers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Officials have instructed ration dealers and subordinates to ensure transparency in distribution.

The remaining maize will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 474,656 ration card holders in the district. Of these, 32,498 are Antyodaya ration card holders and 442,158 are eligible household ration card holders. The department provides 35 kg of free food grains per card to Antyodaya card holders. This includes 17 kg of wheat and 18 kg of rice.

Eligible household ration card holders are provided five kilograms of ration per unit, which includes three kilograms of rice and two kilograms of wheat. This month, free ration distribution will begin on December 10th. Manoj Gaharana, Regional Food Officer said that, All ration dealers have been instructed to distribute rations as per the rules. Supervisors and nodal officers have also been instructed to monitor the distribution so that ration card holders receive their full rations.

According to the information, ration, sugar and maize (instead of rice) will be distributed to ration card holders from 10th to 28th December. Under the National Food Security Act, 14 kg wheat, 16 kg fortified rice and 5 kg maize will be given to the beneficiaries of Antyodaya Anna Yojana in Agra, Aligarh, Firozabad, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Etah, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hapur, Auraiya, Bahraich, Ballia, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Hardoi, Hathras, Kannauj, Kanpur Nagar, Mirzapur, Rampur, Sambhal and Unnao. In case of non-availability of maize, rice will be distributed.

In other districts, 14 kg wheat and 21 kg rice will be distributed free of cost. Three kg sugar will be distributed to Antyodaya card holders from October to December at the rate of Rs 18 per card, totalling Rs 54. Two kg wheat and three kg fortified rice will be distributed to eligible household ration card holders. It may be noted that there are around 3.61 crore ration cards in the state and 14.65 crore people are availing the facility of free ration.
