Google has launched a new digital credit service called ‘Flex by Google Pay’. It aims to make credit more accessible for everyday spending in India. The service is based on the RuPay network and is directly integrated with the Google Pay app.
This co-branded credit card will work using the RuPay network. This card has been launched in a joint venture with Axis Bank. Those who use Zipay can use this digital card. The card has been named Flex.
Flex by Google Pay: Features and Special Features
Google said in its blog post that currently only 50 million or 50 million people in India use credit cards. Flex by Google Pay is designed to bridge this gap and expand access to credit for more people.

Simply put, Flex is a UPI-powered digital credit card that resides entirely within the Google Pay app. It does not require any physical paperwork or lengthy process. Users can apply for this card in just a few minutes through the app and can start using it immediately after being approved.
The card runs on the RuPay network, so it can be used at all online and offline stores that accept RuPay or UPI. The payment method will be exactly the same as UPI.

According to Google, Flex has brought several smart features for its users. The application and approval process for the card is completely digital and fast. Due to the support of RuPay, the card will work everywhere, from small shopkeepers to large online platforms. Additionally, Google Pay and Axis Bank have launched a rewards system. Users will earn ‘stars’ on every transaction, where one star is worth one rupee. These stars can be instantly redeemed for future payments.

Flex is also quite flexible when it comes to payments. Users can pay the entire bill at once or convert it into EMIs. Additionally, the app offers several card-related controls, such as setting a spending limit, blocking or unblocking the card, and changing the PIN.
Flex by Google Pay is already launched, and will be available to more users in the coming days. Currently, interested users can join the waitlist via the Google Pay app.
