New Delhi: An instalment of ₹2,000 may be transferred to farmers’ accounts before Diwali, and it is expected to benefit millions of farmers. The 21st instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been distributed to farmers in disaster-affected areas. Farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have received the ₹2,000 in instalments. All 2.7 million eligible farmers in these three states have received the instalment monsoon season. Floods ravaged these states, causing significant losses for farmers.

Farmers will first need to complete e-KYC (e-Key Information Checking) and land verification. Mobile numbers can be linked to bank accounts, which will be hassle-free. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government transfers three instalments of ₹2,000 each year. Each instalment amounts to ₹6,000. Each is installed every four months.
