Electricity Bill Saving Tips 2025
Use automatic devices
If you forget to switch off the lights while leaving the room or house and the lights remain on throughout the day, then it is inevitable that your electricity bill will increase. To avoid such a situation, you can use automatic devices, such as infrared sensor, motion sensor, automatic timer, dimmer and solar cell. Do this so that the light turns on and off automatically. By installing the sensor, when you enter, the power will turn on automatically, when you leave, the light will turn off automatically.
Use fluorescent tube lights and CFLs
There are some bulbs or tube lights which consume a lot of electricity, these also increase electricity consumption. You should use fluorescent tube lights and CFLs which are 5 times more efficient than normal bulbs. These can save up to 70% electricity. Incandescent lamps convert 90% of electricity into heat and not light. So use CFLs instead of these, they consume less electricity. Understand it like this that a 15 watt CFL gives the same amount of light as a 60 watt normal bulb. By using a 20 watt CFL, you can save up to Rs 700 in electricity bill every year.
Do not open the refrigerator door repeatedly
Refrigerators in homes run all day, they also consume electricity. To reduce its electricity consumption, keep the refrigerator in an open space. Keep it away from heat sources such as sunlight, radiator, oven or cooking range. Actually, if the heat inside the refrigerator does not come out, then it consumes the same amount of energy, due to which more electricity is used. Many people have the habit of opening the refrigerator door again and again, due to which the cold inside the refrigerator comes out and it again uses electricity to cool and the consumption increases.
