This is considered to be the first big announcement of Pushkar Singh Dhami before Dussehra.

When will the benefit of the DA hike be available?
Now the question must be arising in the minds of the employees: when will the benefit of the DA hike be available? Pushkar Singh Dhami has increased the current rate of DA from 455 to 466 per cent from January 1, 202,5, for the employees of public bodies and undertakings receiving the 5th pay scale.
The DA of the employees of the bodies and undertakings receiving salary in the sixth central pay scale has been increased from 24 per cent to 252 per cent. Its rates will also be effective from January 1, 2025. Now everyone’s salary will start increasing.

Know how DA is calculated.
DA is given to the employee and pensioner to provide relief from inflation. Its calculation is based on the inflation rate. DA rules are set separately for different employees. Along with this, the average CPI is also taken on the basis of the base year (2001 = 100 or 2016 = 100) for the central government employee.
At the same time, the calculation of DA in the states depends on the announcement of the central government. There are many states that implement the rates of the central government. These are UP, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Kerala, etc. Apart from these, some states decide the DA of employees according to their own discretion.
For example, if the central government declares DA as 50%, then the states that accept it will give 50% DA of the basic salary of their employees. That means if the basic pay is Rs 30,000, then Rs 15,000 will be given as DA.
