Central Government Health Scheme: If someone in your family is a central government employee or pensioner, then the good news is that it is now available. Soon, covers will be provided under the Central Government Health Scheme, in which more than one crore central government employees and pensioners will receive a significant benefit. With substantial changes, facilities will be improved smoothly, and work will also be done to establish wellness centres.
The most significant change is believed to be addressing the staff shortage. Along with this, ensuring the availability of medicines will also be a top priority. Along with this, steps such as connecting private hospitals for subsidised treatment are also believed to be taken. All these steps will focus on improving services for pensioners.
Big information revealed from the meeting
These issues were raised at the recently held 34th SCOVA meeting. Union Minister Jitendra Singh chaired this meeting. During the meeting, pensioner organisations across the country have raised this demand and provided suggestions. The most critical issue among these was the current status of CGHS and the need for improvement. SCOVA is also an advisory forum, which was formed in 1986 to convey the problems of pensioners directly to the government. It also includes representatives from pensioner organisations and various ministries nationwide.
What changes can be made in CGHS?
Some significant changes are expected in CGHS this time. Demand has also been raised to open new CGHS wellness centres in cities such as Pune, Bengaluru, Balasore, Nagpur, Chennai, Puducherry, and Jammu. Apart from these, a plan to open a modern polyclinic in Jammu is also being considered. The testing lab facility can be started in it.
To overcome the massive staff shortage, the recruitment process was initiated through the SSC. At the same time, to ensure the continuous availability of life-saving medicines, the work of maintaining stock can now be done not only based on old trends but also based on new ones.
