Nowadays, most people book their train tickets online. In such a case, you can earn good money every month by becoming a railway ticket booking agent. For this, you need to register with IRCTC first.

Start with a Small Investment

To become a railway ticket booking agent, you will need to pay an annual fee between ₹2,400 and ₹8,000. There are different plans available like the basic plan, premium plan, direct IRCTC agent, or principal service provider.

Registration Fee and Commission Details

According to the official IRCTC document, the one-time registration fee is ₹30,000 + service tax. Out of this, ₹20,000 is refundable when you cancel your membership.

As an agent, you will earn ₹20 per non-AC ticket and ₹40 per AC ticket. If you book between 101 to 300 tickets in a month, you will pay ₹8 per ticket as a fee. For more than 300 tickets, the fee will be ₹5 per ticket. Apart from this, you will also get 1% commission on the ticket amount. There is no daily limit on the number of tickets an agent can book.

How to Become an IRCTC Agent

  • Fill and submit the online form.
  • Scan your signed application and declaration form and send it to IRCTC.
  • IRCTC will verify your documents.
  • Pay ₹1,180 to create your IRCTC ID.
  • Complete OTP and video verification to get a digital certificate.
  • After receiving the digital certificate, pay the IRCTC fee.
  • You will then receive your IRCTC agent credentials.

PAN card, Aadhaar card, mobile number, valid email ID, passport-size photo, address proof, declaration form, and application form.
