The work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed corridor is progressing very fast. According to the information, work is going on to extend this corridor to Delhi.
If this happens, the dream of a bullet train in Rajasthan will become a reality, as the proposed route will pass through major cities in the state, including Udaipur, Ajmer, Jaipur, and Alwar, with a total length of approximately 878 km. Once the work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is completed, the bullet train will run at a speed of up to 350 km per hour on this corridor.
It is worth noting that a high-speed trial track for the bullet train is being built in Nava city, Nagaur district, near Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan, which falls under the Jodhpur Railway Division. 75 per cent of the proposed 878 km long high-speed rail corridor between Delhi and Ahmedabad will pass through Rajasthan, covering a distance of 657 km within the state.

The Delhi-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor will pass through 335 villages in seven districts of Rajasthan, including Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Dungarpur. There is a plan to build eleven stations on this route, out of which seven will be in Rajasthan. Plans are being made to build stations in Udaipur, Dungarpur (Kherwada), Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur and Alwar (Baharod).
The maximum speed of the bullet train will be 350 km/h, but the train will run at a speed of 320 km/h. The 508 km distance from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will be covered in 2 hours 7 minutes (with limited stops) or 2 hours 58 minutes (with all stops).
