Budget 2026: During her budget speech for 2026-27, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman revealed a list of items that will either get cheaper or more expensive. She mentioned that solar-powered products will see a price drop. Additionally, shoes, mobile batteries, and ovens will also become less expensive.

Medicines for seven serious diseases will be cheaper.
Seventeen cancer medications will also see a price reduction.
Sugar medicine will cost less.
Foreign travel will be more affordable than before.
CNG and biogas will also be cheaper.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed that 17 cancer-related drugs will be less expensive. Medicines for seven rare diseases will also be reduced in price. Customs duties on medicines and medical devices have been lowered as well.

Smartphones and tablets will be more affordable

The government introduced several key initiatives for electronics manufacturing in the budget, significantly boosting the Make in India campaign. As a result, the prices of smartphones and tablets produced in India may decrease. Simultaneously, the output of smartphones and tablets from Indian factories is expected to rise, and with the enhancement of domestic manufacturing, consumers will have access to more budget-friendly devices.

On the flip side, some products will see a price increase. The Finance Minister indicated that alcohol, scrap, and minerals will become pricier. She also mentioned that the fiscal deficit is anticipated to be 4.3% of GDP for the fiscal year 2026-27.
