Bima Sakhi Yojana: Last year, the government introduced the Bima Sakhi Scheme under LIC, aimed at empowering women across the nation to achieve self-sufficiency. This initiative also provides an opportunity for women who have completed their 10th grade to earn an income.
Earn up to Rs 7,000 monthly
Participants can potentially earn up to Rs 7,000 monthly. Eligibility for this scheme requires applicants to be between the ages of 18 and 70. Women who have passed the 10th grade will receive specialized training to become LIC agents. The government has set a target to train 200,000 Bima Sakhis nationwide over a span of three years. During the training period, these women will receive a stipend.

Upon completion of their training, they will be eligible to work as LIC agents, with the possibility of advancing to the position of Development Officer upon graduation. The stipend structure is as follows: in the first year, participants will receive Rs 7,000 per month; in the second year, Rs 6,000; and in the third year, Rs 5,000. Over the three years, women can earn more than Rs 2 lakh, in addition to potential earnings from commissions.
Only women are eligible to apply for the Bima Sakhi Scheme, and they must possess a matriculation or 10th pass certificate. The government will provide three years of training for qualified applicants, after which they will serve as insurance agents.
