To provide relief to the women of the state, the Jharkhand government has started sending the amount for the month of April to their bank accounts under the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana‘. Under this scheme, every female beneficiary is given financial help of ₹ 2500 every month. As soon as the amount was released by the Women and Child Development Department, money started coming into the accounts of women in many districts.

This will help thousands of women to run their households. The government aims to make women self-dependent and provide them with financial support. This is an important step that will promote women’s empowerment. Know how your name can be removed from the list if there is a mistake in your documents or you are ineligible, and when will you get the amount for two months together.

Two months amount together in June

The government has decided that the amount for May and June months will now be sent together in June. This means that beneficiary women can get ₹5000 at one time, which will give them a big relief in household expenses. This will give women more flexibility in financial planning.

Ineligible beneficiaries are excluded

The government wants to give the benefit of this scheme only to eligible women. Therefore, women whose information is found to be incorrect are being removed from the beneficiary list. So far, 77,000 women in East Singhbhum district have been kept on hold, which means they will not be given the amount at present. This ensures the transparency and integrity of the scheme.

‘Most’ affected beneficiaries in Jamshedpur

The highest number of these ineligible beneficiaries are from the Jamshedpur zone. Here 14,662 women are currently not getting the benefit of the scheme because their information is either incomplete or they do not meet the criteria of the scheme. This shows the strict eligibility criteria of the scheme.

Scrutiny of applications and strict action

The applications of women who have availed the benefit of the scheme by giving wrong documents or information are being investigated. If they are found ineligible, the amount will also be recovered from them. This is a deterrent against fraud.

Bank account mistake and other pension schemes

Wrong bank account information

Many times the bank account of the beneficiaries is not linked to their Aadhaar or the IFSC code is wrong, in such a case also money cannot be transferred to the account.

Benefits of another pension scheme

Also, women who are taking benefit of any other pension scheme can be excluded from ‘Mainiya Yojana’.
This is important for the fairness and avoidance of duplication of the scheme.

Only eligible beneficiaries will get the benefit

The government intends that the benefit of this ambitious scheme should be given only to those women who are entitled to it. The department is seriously working on this and the investigation process is going on in every district. This will ensure the proper implementation of the scheme.
