There are more than 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts in the country, which have become the easiest way to connect common people with banking services. With the help of these accounts, crores of people have started saving and taking advantage of government schemes. But to keep the account active and avail the facilities, some formalities have to be completed, one of which is Re-KYC.
If you do not complete this process on time, then the facilities related to your account may be affected. Therefore, it is important to know which documents you should keep ready so that you do not face any problem and your account always remains active.
Re-KYC of Jan Dhan accounts

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released important information on the occasion of the completion of 10 years of Jan Dhan Yojana. From July 1 to September 30, 2025, special camps are being organized at the panchayat level for the KYC of all Jan Dhan account holders. If you want to change the address in an account or update any other information, then you can easily get this work done by submitting the relevant documents at these camps.
It is a big feature of the accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana that you do not need to maintain any monthly average balance in them; all these accounts are zero-balance accounts. Despite this, re-KYC is necessary to keep the account active and protect it from fraud.
Which documents will be required for re-KYC?
You will need some important documents to get re-KYC done. The most important among these is the Aadhaar card. After this, you should have documents like a voter card, ration card, driving license, or passport for proof of your identity and address.

Documents required for re-KYC:
Aadhaar card (mandatory)
Voter card
Ration card
Driving license
Passport
If you have shifted somewhere else or there is a change in any information, then your information can also be updated in the camp. Keep in mind that till 30 September 2025, these camps will be organized by RBI in various panchayats, especially this facility will be available in your area, India. Therefore, take advantage of these camps as soon as possible and get a re-KYC of your Jan Dhan account done so that in the future you do not have to face any kind of inconvenience and your banking services continue uninterrupted.
