Ration Rules July- Big news for Ration Card holders. New rules will be implement from July month. The Yogi Adityanath government of the state has decided that under the Take Home Ration Scheme, now pregnant women, lactating women and children will get ration only after OTP and face verification on the mobile linked to Aadhaar. 1.18 crore beneficiaries will get the benefit of this.
Its purpose is to prevent irregularities and provide benefits to eligible beneficiaries. FRS will be mandatory for all beneficiaries from July 1 and for new beneficiaries from August 1. The FRS system will work on a double authentication system. Under this, OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and the face will also be scanned. The beneficiary’s photo will be matched with the Aadhaar linked e-KYC data and an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Its verification will be done at the Anganwadi center.
In view of the upcoming monsoon, the UP government has given instructions to provide free ration for June, July and August 2025 soon. Under this, the ration for June is to be distributed from June 10, July ration from June 20 and August ration from June 25 to July 6. Let us tell you that Antyodaya card holders get 35 kg of grain per card. Whereas household card holders get ration at the rate of 5 kg of grain per member.
eKYC is also necessary for ration card holders
Ration card is E-KYC i.e. Know Your Customer, the reason behind getting it done is to verify the identity of ration card holders and eliminate fake ration cards. Completing the KYC process will only benefit those who are eligible. If a fake ration card is in someone’s name then it can be eliminated. Under the eKYC process, each ration card member has to match his name, date of birth etc. with his Aadhaar data.
How to complete Ration Card e-KYC online
1. Open the official Public Distribution System (PDS) website of your state, as every state has its own e-KYC platform.
2. In the Services or Ration Card menu on the homepage, you will see an option called “e-KYC for Ration Card” segment or something similar. Go to it.
3. Enter your Ration Card number and Aadhaar number (of the head of the family or concerned member) here.
4. Use the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar account. Enter the OTP sent to your phone to complete the verification.
5. After entering the details, you will receive a message confirming the completion of your e-KYC.
