An important cabinet meeting has been called in Shimla today under the chairmanship of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu! In this meeting, many important issues are likely to be approved after discussion. The most discussed issue is about the decision to increase the retirement age of employees and to stop or continue the commutation (taking a part of the pension in a lump sum) of pensioners. So, if you are an employee or pensioner of the Himachal government, then this news is very important for you.

The retirement age of employees is from 58 to 59 years

The Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government of the state is considering increasing the retirement age of employees from 58 to 59 years. This proposal is expected to be placed in the cabinet today. The Finance Department will make a detailed presentation in this regard, in which the burden on the government treasury will be discussed.

Since the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Resource Mobilization has recommended increasing the retirement age to 59 years, there will be an in-depth discussion on this today. The benefits and disadvantages of increasing the retirement age of employees to the government’s financial treasury will be discussed in detail.

A big decision can also be taken on the commutation of pensioners

A decision can also be taken in the cabinet meeting to stop or continue the commutation of pensioners. Recently, Chief Minister Sukhu had assured that the commutation of any officer or employee retiring in the state will not be stopped. On April 30, 1500 employees have retired in the entire state, this needs to be considered.

All the proposals of the cabinet subcommittee will be discussed in detail. It is likely that in the cabinet meeting, the financial burden of the advance pension under commutation given to the employees of the Finance Department on retirement and its shortcomings will also be brought forward. There is a provision to give 15 to 40 percent pension in advance to retired employees under commutation.

These important issues can also be discussed

Many big decisions related to an increase in retirement age and pension rules can be taken first in the cabinet meeting. Apart from this, some other important issues are also likely to be discussed:

Proposal for recruitment to the posts of Junior Office Assistant Library.

Proposal for a scheme to provide electric taxis to the youth.

Discussion on the Him Care and Ayushman schemes in the Health Department. This was also discussed in the previous cabinet.
