Amidst this, significant news has emerged for those travelling between Western Rajasthan and the holy pilgrimage city of Haridwar. Indian Railways has announced the launch of a new train service connecting Barmer and Haridwar.

This service will operate as a bi-weekly Summer Special Express train. The Barmer–Haridwar–Barmer Bi-weekly Summer Special Express is scheduled to complete a total of 40 trips. The launch of this new train has been announced to enhance passenger convenience during the summer season. This service is expected to greatly benefit both pilgrims and tourists. Operational Period: May 11, 2026, to July 16, 2026
Operating Days: Mondays and Thursdays
Departure: 4:15 AM (from Barmer)
Arrival: Approximately 4:10 AM the following day (at Haridwar)

Haridwar to Barmer (Train Number 04812)
Operational Period: May 12, 2026, to July 17, 2026
Operating Days: Tuesdays and Fridays
Departure: 5:15 AM

This train will pass through several railway stations along its route. The major stops of this train are Baytu, Balotra, Samdari Junction, Luni Junction, Jodhpur, Merta Road, Nagaur, Nokha, Bikaner, Lalgarh Junction, Lunkaransar, Suratgarh Junction, Hanumangarh Junction, Bathinda Junction, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, and finally, Haridwar Railway Station.
