Bank Holiday – There is an important information for bank customers in the month of July. From July 14, banks will remain closed for three consecutive days. These holiday will apply to both government and private sector banks. If you are going to do any bank related work these days, then keep in mind that physical branches will remain closed on these three days. Therefore, it will be better for you to finish the important work first.

Why will banks remain closed on 14th July?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues a calendar of bank holidays every year and every month. According to this calendar, Special thing is about 14th July, when banks will remain closed in Shillong zone due to Beh Deinkhlam festival. In this way, banks will remain closed in most parts of the country in three days, but keep in mind that the holiday on 14th July is not in the whole country, it will be applicable only in Shillong zone.

Which banks will be closed?

In July 14, all branches of public sector banks, private banks and government banks will remain closed. This means that you will not be able to go to the physical branches of the bank and do transactions these days. Especially those people who have to deposit cash, deposit cheques or withdraw cash, they will have to settle their work in advance.

Online banking facility will continue

Although bank branches will remain closed, digital banking services will work without any interruption. This means that you can send or receive your money through digital means like UPI, net banking, mobile banking, IMPS and RTGS. So there will be no interruption in your digital transactions even during bank holidays. These facilities will remain operational 24×7, so that you can continue your economic activities without interruption.

More bank holidays in July

Apart from 14th July, there will be more bank holidays in the month of July. RBI has fixed holidays for the whole month which will be applicable according to different regions.

Banks will remain closed on July 16 in Dehradun zone due to Harela festival.

There will be a holiday on July 17 in Shillong on the death anniversary of U Tirot Singh.

Banks will remain closed on July 19 in Agartala zone on account of Ker Puja.

There will be holiday on 20th July and 27th July as it is Sunday across the country.

Banks across the country will remain closed on July 26 due to fourth Saturday.

Banks will remain closed on July 28 in the Gangtok zone on account of Drukpa Tshe-Zhe festival.
