Bank Holiday in September 2025

This month, big festivals like Onam, Navratri, Eid-e-Milad, and Durga Puja will be celebrated. For this reason, banks have 9 days of additional holidays in different states. Holidays will be different in different states according to local festivals.

Digital banking services will remain operational

Customers need not worry as digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATM will continue to run even on holidays. Only check clearing, passbook updates, and other physical banking operations will be affected during the holiday. Such work will be processed on the next working day.

Bank Holiday List for September 2025

Banks will be closed on Karma Puja in Ranchi on 3 September.

There will be a holiday on First Onam in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on 4 September.

On 5 September, banks will be closed in many cities, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai, on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad, Milad-un-Nabi, Thiruvonam, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Indrajatra.

On 6 September, there will be a holiday on Indrajatra in Gangtok and also in Jammu, Raipur, and Srinagar.

On September 12, banks will be closed in Jaipur, Jammu, and Srinagar on the day after Eid-e-Milad.

On September 22, there will be a holiday on Navratri Sthapana in Jaipur.

Banks will not open in Jaipur on September 23, on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.

On September 29, banks will be closed in Agartala, Guwahati, Jaipur, and Kolkata on the occasion of Maha Saptami and Durga Puja.

On September 30, there will be a holiday in many cities, including Agartala, Ranchi, Kolkata, Patna, and Bhubaneswar, due to Maha Ashtami, Durga Ashtami, and Durga Puja.
