Banks will remain closed for four days
Banks will be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to weekly holidays. Meanwhile, on Monday and Tuesday, October 27th and 28th, banks will remain closed in many states, especially Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Chhath Puja. Thus, banks will remain closed for four consecutive days, from October 25th to 28th. However, these holidays will not be applicable in all states. Banks will not be closed simultaneously in every state. Banks will remain closed wherever the Chhath festival is celebrated.
Chhath Puja is a major festival dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, celebrated six days after Diwali. The festival lasts for four days, and devotees follow strict rules. The devotee observes a fast without drinking water and offers prayers to the setting and rising sun, praying for the happiness, prosperity, and health of the family.

October 31, 2025- Banks will remain closed in Gujarat on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary.
