Ayushman Vandana Card: Free treatment for elderly people over 70 years, know the eligible

Ayushman Vandana Card: The central government has a program called the Ayushman Bharat scheme, designed specifically for those in the unorganized sector. Eligible individuals receive Ayushman cards, which allow them to access free medical treatment at hospitals that are part of the scheme. Interestingly, there are some people who can get this Ayushman card without having to meet any eligibility requirements.

Curious about who qualifies? It’s actually senior citizens aged 70 and above. They receive Ayushman Vaya Vandana cards through the Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Jan Arogya scheme. With this card, they can enjoy free treatment worth up to 5 lakh rupees each year at participating hospitals.

No eligibility criteria apply for those over 70 under the Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana. Their income doesn’t matter, and simply being over 70 is enough to qualify. What benefits do they get? Seniors with an Ayushman Vaya Vandana card can access free treatment at listed hospitals, up to 5 lakh rupees annually. Plus, they have the option to add an extra top-up of up to 5 lakh rupees.

For those who are under 70 and want to apply for an Ayushman card, you’ll need to check your eligibility. To do this, visit the official scheme website at https://pmjay.gov.in/. Click on the ‘AM I Eligible’ option and fill in the required details to find out if you qualify.

Any citizen in the country who is 70 years old or older can get free medical treatment up to 5 lakh rupees at any hospital with this card, no matter their income level. Whether they’re retired from a government position or running their own business, anyone over 70 can apply for the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card. Additionally, if a family already has an Ayushman card and includes someone aged 70 or older, they will get extra coverage for treatment up to 5 lakh rupees.

Let’s explore how the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, part of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme (PMJAY for those 70+), is set up for seniors. So, what exactly is the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card? Launched in 2024 under the Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, this card aims to provide excellent healthcare services for seniors aged 70 and above. The perks of having this card include access to free treatment up to 5 lakh rupees at any hospital nationwide.
