Annadata Sukhibhava Yojana: The Andhra Pradesh government led by N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday provided financial assistance of Rs 7,000 each to 47 lakh farmers under the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme . Under this scheme, eligible farmers will be given financial assistance of a total of Rs 20,000 in three installments per year.
Scheme launched and symbolic cheques distributed
According to a video link shared by the Chandrababu Naidu government, the chief minister symbolically handed over cheques to two farmers while launching the state-wide initiative worth Rs 3,174 crore. He also presented a special cheque of Rs 29 crore for the Darsi Assembly constituency.
First installment started from East Veerayapalem village
According to news agency Bhasha, Chief Minister Naidu distributed the first installment of the scheme in East Veerayapalem village in Darsi Mandal of Prakasam district. On this occasion, he described the scheme as an important step for the welfare of farmers.
Out of the Rs 7,000 distributed on Saturday, Rs 5,000 was given by the Andhra Pradesh government under the ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ scheme, while the remaining Rs 2,000 was provided under the central government’s ‘PM-KISAN’ scheme. Under this scheme, the central government gives a total of Rs 6,000 and the state government Rs 14,000, which will provide assistance of Rs 20,000 per year to eligible farmers.
For the first installment, the state government has made a budgetary allocation of Rs 2,343 crore, while the central government has provided Rs 831 crore. This joint effort aims to economically empower the farmers of the state. The ‘Annadata Sukhibhava Yojana’ is one of the key promises made by Naidu in the 2024 elections. It is part of his ‘Super Six’ election promises, which include three free LPG cylinders per year to every family, an annual assistance of Rs 15,000 for every school-going child, a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 for women aged 19 to 59 and other eligible persons.
