That’s what the Meteorological Department is reporting. But don’t worry, after the Dol Yatra, we’ll feel a real warmth coming in. The heat will ramp up, and we can expect some rain in the Darjeeling district on Friday and Saturday. Thunderstorms are also on the way for the four northern districts until Monday.

Possibilities of rain

We’re looking at rain in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar. For the next four to five days, temperatures won’t change much. South Bengal isn’t expecting any rain for now, with clear skies ahead. Days will feel a bit warm, while nights and mornings will have a lovely spring feel. A new western cyclonic system is set to arrive on Sunday, March 9.

In South Bengal, day and night temperatures have dipped a bit. They might drop slightly more in the next 24 hours. For now, the skies are clear, and no rain is expected this week. By the weekend, temperatures will start to rise again, with Kolkata possibly hitting 34 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department predicts that temperatures could reach 36 to 37 degrees Celsius in various districts.

In North Bengal, light rain is likely. There’s a chance of light rain with thunderstorms in the hilly areas. This rain could be sporadic across four districts until Monday, starting from Friday. Expect light rain and thunderstorms in North Bengal, with scattered showers in Darjeeling from Friday to Monday. Rainfall will pick up on Saturday, and thunderstorms are possible in four districts. Light rain is also forecasted for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri. Even with the rain, temperatures are not expected to change much over the next four to five days.
