Big relief news has come for Aadhar cardholders. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is preparing to launch a new mobile app, e-Aadhaar, soon. With the help of this app, you will be able to update important information like your address, date of birth, and phone number directly from your mobile phone. This app will include modern technologies like AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Face ID, which will make Aadhaar-related digital services simpler, safer, and faster than ever.

According to government officials, the e-Aadhaar app may be available to the general public by the end of 2025. Its main objective is to eliminate the need to visit enrollment centers repeatedly and make the update process completely digital, easy, and secure.

Updating Aadhaar with the app will be very easy

This new app, e-Aadhaar, will allow Aadhaar cardholders to update information instantly from their smartphone. UIDAI has said that from November, Aadhaar users will have to visit the enrollment center only for biometric authentication (fingerprint or iris scan). For all other updates, this app will be enough.

Automatically fetch from government documents

UIDAI is adding an amazing feature to the e-Aadhaar app, which will automatically fetch the data of users from government sources. This will include documents like birth certificate, PAN card, passport, driving license, ration card (PDS), MNREGA records, and electricity bill. This feature will make address verification and other updates very fast and convenient.

Good Governance Portal and the way forward

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has also recently launched the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal. It aims to simplify the approval process of Aadhaar authentication requests and increase the efficiency, user-friendliness, and inclusiveness of Aadhaar services.

This move by UIDAI will prove to be significant in digitizing the Aadhaar update process, eliminating paperwork and reducing the risk of identity fraud. In the future, this app will become an all-in-one digital platform for all Aadhaar-related updates and services for citizens.
