Aadhaar Card: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has raised the fees for the enrollment and modification of Aadhaar cards. Following the implementation of these new rates on October 1st, services are now being offered at the updated prices at Aadhaar service centers located in post offices.
Nevertheless, the process of creating a new Aadhaar card and updating the biometrics of children will continue to be free of charge. Harekrishna Yadav, the Senior Postmaster of the Ayodhya division, mentioned that the revised rates will be applicable until September 30, 2028.
According to the Senior Postmaster, under the new pricing structure, biometric corrections to Aadhaar cards—including changes to name, address, gender, date of birth, mobile number, and email address—will now incur a fee of Rs 75, an increase from the previous charge of Rs 50. In a similar vein, for demographic updates such as photo, fingerprint, or retina corrections, the fee will now be Rs 125 instead of Rs 100. Additionally, obtaining a printout of your Aadhaar Card from the website will cost Rs 50, up from the earlier fee of Rs 30.
The Senior Superintendent indicated that individuals needing to create or amend their Aadhaar cards can reach out to their nearest sub-post office or head post office. This service is accessible in 52 post offices across the Ayodhya and Ambedkar Nagar districts, which are sufficiently staffed.
Furthermore, village heads or educational institutions have the option to arrange camps for Aadhaar card creation. Village heads or educational institutions within both districts of the Ayodhya division can also set up camps for Aadhaar card issuance.
Chief Marketing Officer Satyendra Singh noted that a formal request must be submitted to the Senior Superintendent for this initiative. He will review the request and decide on the camp date, subsequently informing the organizers. However, the postal department will only facilitate camps when the number of individuals seeking Aadhaar card creation or modifications reaches a minimum of 50.
