Salary will increase with fitment factor.
Do you know that the 8th Pay Commission will see a bumper increase in the salary of central employees?. Salary is increased according to the fitment factor. The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57, which can be improved further in the new Pay Commission. If the fitment factor remains 2.57, the minimum salary will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 46,260.
The minimum pension will increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 23,130. If the fitment factor is fixed at 1.92, as former Finance Secretary Subhash Garg estimated, then the minimum salary will be Rs 34,560. The increased wage will work like a dose of inflation.
How much has the dearness allowance increased?
The dearness allowance of central employees has been increased by 2 percent, after which it has now increased to 55 percent. Earlier, central employees were receiving a 53 percent DA benefit. After the increase, more than one crore families will receive their benefits. The increased rates will be considered applicable from January 1, 2025.
